“My family encouraged me to express myself and to find that one thing that truly made me happy. I dreamed of a world where women walked around wearing my designs; where I brought the runway to reality for all women.” Sergio Guadarrama also states his upbringing in an artistic, open-minded city like Austin, TX was the perfect catalyst for creativity. Sergio wasn’t the only creative mind in his household; his father’s work influenced him in developing his own style: “My father was an architect and introduced me to balance and proportion… which heavily influenced my design aesthetic.”

Sergio obtained his first Fashion Design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA. Seeking a fresh perspective, he traded west coast for east to earn a second Fashion Design degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. During his coursework at FIT, Sergio was able to refine his skills and hone in on his passion: eveningwear. Anxious to break into the industry, Sergio established his label “Celestino” in 2005, while he was still a full-time student. He chose the name “Celestino” because it’s a family name, and his middle. As the winner of “Best in Class – Execution” at the inaugural Supima Design Competition in 2008, Sergio has continued to expand his vision through his business with co-founder & Director, Rusty Harper. His graceful evening gowns and chic cocktail dresses boast impeccable tailoring and refined silhouettes for every woman’s shape. “My goal is to make a woman… any woman, feel beautiful.”

At the age of 26, Sergio’s style is a perfect architectural balance between classic and contemporary persuasion. In every garment he creates, he exemplifies the unique ability to create season-less evening wear.
