Inspired by his architect father and his upbringing in an artistic city, Austin-born fashion designer Sergio Guadarrama is creating the world of Celestino with perfectly crafted, fashion forward women's wear. Through his use of traditional luxury fabrics and unconventional details, he marries the elegance of the femininity with innovative concepts. Fashion is the Celestino religion.
After graduation from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, Sergio continued his career at the prominent Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. While in school, he worked with private clients and won numerous fashion design competition, including the inaugural Supima Cotton Design Competition. Sergio's skills were further refined by freelance work at the Metropolitan Opera which gave him hands-on work. His creations in productions such as Madame Butterfly and Magic Flute taught him old world techniques, knowledge from a dying art.
Sergio's accomplishments and opportunities continue, collaborating with Vogue Italia, Mrs. Universe, People Magazine, Vanidades, Tiffany's Campaigns, Forbes, Polyvore, Zink, WWD and New York Magazine. He also monitors FIT and UT students as a way of passing on his expertise to the future generations. Sergio has been featured in many international and national publications and appeared on numerous television spots. He presently makes his home & design studio in New York.
Celestino has directed it's focus towards designing with a purpose. As a company we choose to only design with up-cycled fabrics and organic materials. Sergio prides himself for designing for women of all sizes and ages, while empowering each individual woman as she steps into the Celestino garment.
